William Mouat Bio


A native Montanan, William holds a D.M.A. in Opera Production, University of Washington. On February 14, 2011, William began his administrative duties as Director of Education and Cultural Outreach at the Alberta Bair Theater for the Performing Arts. William has a teaching background that spans twenty years in four large university settings. Pedagogical experience includes opera workshop, opera theater, diction for singers, Western opera literature, and private voice at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

His stage experience includes baritone roles with several regional and national opera companies, including New York City Opera National Company, Seattle Opera, Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, Canada, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Columbus, Des Moines Metro Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Tacoma Opera, Houston Opera in the Heights, and Rimrock Opera.

William is Education Director for Alberta Bair Theater.  Follow the Alberta Bair Theater Education Seminars 2013-2014 for information on all of our professional development activities.
