About the Organization Venture into Schools is NOVA’s outreach education program for grades 3-8. The program is dedicated to engaging, inspiring and challenging youth through performing arts. VIS is hosted at elementary and middle schools, where students are eligible to audition for a 30-45 minute musical after school. Up to 50 students participate in the two-week rehearsal schedule and perform the musical twice. NOVA provides costumes, props and a minimalist set for each production. The school provides students and space. Since the program began in 2003, we have venture into more than 40 schools and youth organizations.
Description This is your opportunity to join the dynamic education crew at NOVA Center for the Performing Arts.
The instructor is responsible for assisting in the audition and rehearsal process. Venture into Schools is designed to be both a creative and educational process that introduces students to the world of theater and teaches them how to work successfully in a group setting.
At least two years experience in theater, education or theater education is required. Experience can be derived through improvisational acting and or teaching creative drama, not through attending theatre. Love of theatre is not a qualifier.
Our Venture into Schools season is still being established. Dates and times for commitment are subject to change.
