2022 Spring Classes will be held on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, depending on choice of class, from Tuesday, January 11, 2022 to March 31, 2022. Each class will be one hour long. Depending on your choice of class, it may start at 4pm, 5pm or 5:30pm. Please see individual classes for day and time.

Rimrock Opera for Kids

Rimrock Opera Chorus for Kids (R.O.C.K.)

ROCK I - Beginners

Grades K -3: ROCK is the musical component of NOVA’s Youth Conservatory. In this class students learn how to sing, act, and move their bodies as well as a basic understanding of reading music and music history. ROCK I is a beginner level course for students just entering the music world.
  • Class will be 4:00pm - 5:00pm on Tuesdays from January 11 - March 29, 2022. Showcase is scheduled for March 29th.

ROCK II - Advanced

By Instructor approval or audition: ROCK is the musical component of NOVA’s Youth Conservatory. Meant for more advanced choir students, this class will offer students the opportunity to further their musical knowledge. They will learn sight reading, melody, harmony, blending, rhythm, tempo and layering. ROCK II is for students who have either completed ROCK I or have more musical experience.
  • Classes will be 5:30PM-6:30PM Tuesdays from January 11 - March 29, 2022. The Showcase is scheduled for March 29.

2022 Spring Class - Creative Dramatics
(Wed. 5 - 6pm) Grades K-3rd Students will be introduced to early elements of the theater while exploring imagination through role-playing and story telling. Instructor is Anna Hayes.

  • This class will be held 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesdays from January 11 - March 30, 2022.
  • The showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 at 6:00PM.

2022 Spring Class - Intro to Acting (Wednesday 5:30-6:30pm)
Grades 4th - 7th:
Students will learn how to create and develop characters. They will use improvisation, storytelling and visual imagery to advance their skills and transition to more prominent roles on-stage. Instructor is DeLaney Hardy Ray

  • Classes will be held 5:30 - 6:30pm Wednesdays, January 12th - March 30, 2022.
  • The Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30th at 6:30pm.
  • Please be aware of the registration form that will follow your selection. Thank you in advance for completing it, though it can be completed on the first day of class as well.

022 Spring Class - Intro to Improv (Thursday 5pm - 6pm)
Grades 7 - 12: Students will learn to develop cooperative story telling techniques, including "Yes, and...", plus basic vocabulary and understanding of improv concepts and strategies. Keller Paulson of Slapstick Improv will be instructing the class in a fun and open environment.

  • Class will be 5:00pm to 6:00pm Thursdays from January 13, 2022 to March 31, 2022. The Showcase is scheduled for 6:00PM on March 31st.
